Atlas of PET/CT in Pediatric Patients

Abstract

Rhabdomyosarcoma (RMS), together with synovial sarcoma, is the most common soft tissue sarcoma in children and adolescents. These tumors can arise anywhere in the body. 18F-FDG–PET/CT provides important additional information in the initial staging of RMS, with a significant impact on its therapeutic management. This imaging approach is also of high prognostic value in the early assessment of the therapeutic response.
