Abstract
During the last few decades, there has been a steady increase in the incidence of sexually transmitted diseases, attributed to risky sexual behaviors. From a practical point of view, sexually transmitted infections should always be suspected in patients with symptoms or abnormalities involving the anorectal region and who have a positive history of anal intercourse [1].
