Il blocco operatorio, per la complessità delle procedure che vengono effettuate, è uno degli ambienti più rischiosi e imprevedibili nell’ambito delle strutture ospedaliere. Nonostante i significativi progressi delle tecniche, sia chirurgiche sia anestesiologiche, negli ultimi anni, esistono aree di criticità dell’intero processo chirurgico che mettono in pericolo la sicurezza del paziente. L’attività della sala operatoria è caratterizzata da interventi complessi, staff multidisciplinari con differente preparazione tecnico-professionale, apparecchiature e dotazioni tecnologiche sofisticate.
