Riassunto

Delineato il grande impatto che il suicidio riveste sulla mortalità globale, soprattutto nelle fasce d’età giovanili, appare chiara la necessità che vengano stabiliti e attuati interventi di prevenzione e di terapia. La prevenzione del suicidio rappresenta una sfida difficile in ambito psichiatrico in quanto richiede l’intervento di molte figure professionali e la loro integrazione; inoltre, si sviluppa su vari livelli:

  • primaria: comprende tutti quegli interventi volti a diminuire l’incidenza dei suicidi e dei TS, diminuendo proprio la possibilità che un individuo sviluppi l’ideazione suicidaria;

  • secondaria: sono tutti gli interventi attivati sulle persone ritenute a rischio;

  • terziaria: è rivolta a tutti quei soggetti che abbiano già tentato il suicidio; mira, quindi, a impedire e ridurre eventuali recidive.
