Abstract
Computed tomography (CT) technology has undergone major advances over the last decade, with no advance being more important than the development of 64-slice multidetector CT (MDCT) scanners. In parallel, the contraindications to coronary CT angiography (CCTA) have decreased, although there are still several absolute contraindications to this procedure. This chapter addresses the absolute contraindications to CCTA with respect to the medical/technical aspects of the exam, as well as the clinical absolute contraindications.
