Abstract
The first reliable breast reconstruction with autologous tissue was described using the transverse rectus abdominis myocutaneous (TRAM) flap. This technique revolutionized breast reconstruction, allowing surgeons to create a breast that is soft, warm, and with a good and long-lasting result. Still it is considered an excellent option for unilateral breast reconstructions despite advances in free flap breast procedures. This chapter is a step-by-step guide in how to perform a breast reconstruction with TRAM flap.
