Abstract

In femoral osteosynthesis, wires 1.8–2 mm in diameter are used. In combined external fixation, these wires are supplemented by half-pins 5 and 6 mm in diameter. The external fixation set must also include 2-mm console wires with a stop that can be set at various lengths, allowing variable insertion into the bone (5, 10, 15 and 20 mm).
