Riassunto
La ventilazione meccanica influenza non solo la funzione degli organi, ma determina a volte, complicazioni anche letali, che interessano Porgano primariamente coinvolto nella terapia respiratoria, cioè il polmone. Gli effetti della terapia respiratoria artificiale sulla funzione dei diversi organi, corne il sistema cardiovascolare, si determinano per lo sviluppo di abbassamenti non fisiologici della pressione intratoracica e per le lesioni polmonari da pressione o da volume. Inoltre, l’impiego di vie respiratorie artificiali, tubo e cannula tracheale, inducono specifiche complicazioni, esposte nei relativi capitoli.
