Riassunto

L’eminattenzione spaziale unilaterale, o neglect, è una sindrome neuropsicologica conseguente a lesione cerebrale caratterizzata dall’incapacità di percepire, elaborare e rispondere a stimoli presentati nell’emispazio controlesionale, in assenza di deficit sensoriali elementari [1]. Nella maggior parte dei casi, anche se non nella totalità, il neglect è conseguenza di lesioni cerebrali destre, e pertanto il deficit è relativo all’emispazio sinistro. Il disturbo può riguardare tutte le modalità sensoriali — visione, udito, tatto, propriocezione — e interessare tutte le porzioni dello spazio — corporeo, peripersonale ed extrapersonale.
