Riassunto
La depressione costituisce un importante fattore psicologico di rischio cardiaco sia in soggetti sani, in cui aumenta la probabilità di futuri eventi cardiaci, sia in soggetti malati, in cui è incrementata la probabilità di recidive. La depressione è inoltre una complicanza psicologica frequente per i pazienti cardiaci che hanno affrontato un evento acuto o che soffrono di una malattia cronica, nonch’e per i loro partner. D’altra parte, una relazione di coppia disfunzionale rappresenta un importante fattore di rischio cardiaco, così come un buon funzionamento di coppia è invece un fattore protettivo. È quindi utile studiare la relazione tra funzionamento di coppia e depressione, al fine di valutare come la depressione di un partner venga gestita all’interno della coppia e, viceversa, se e come la relazione influenzi lo sviluppo e il decorso della depressione (Molinari, Compare e Parati, 2006; Compare, Gondoni e Molinari, 2006; Compare, Proietti et al. 2011; Compare, Germani et al. 2011).
