Abstract

Following the classical descriptions of Adamckiewicz (1882), Kadyi (1889), and Tanon (1908), Suh and Alexander (1939) and Lazorthese (1957), the last 30 years have seen advances in the knowledge of medullary circulation together with the problems associated with vascular myelitic pathologies. Significant advances have been made thanks to the research of Garcin, Lazorthes, Zulch, Corbin, Gillian, Alajouanine, Castaine, Lhermitte, Sarteschi, Giannini, Gruner, Poules, La Presle, Godlewski, Rondot and Zadeh.
