Congenital Abnormalities Affecting the Respiratory System

Among the various and multiple causes of respiratory distress in the young child, some are the result of congenital abnormalities. Of these, some may present immediately while others present as a result of complications, particularly infection. In this article, the spectrum of such abnormalities is reviewed.
