Mobile telephones are today the most universal means of communication that has ever existed, with widespread distribution and use of these devices. Problems relating to electromagnetic interference from mobile telephones in permanently paced patients or those with ICDs implanted are very much under discussion at present and the subject arouses strong interest not only among physicians but also among the public.
