At the end of the 1970s, direct surgical operations [1] targeting the arrhythmogenic area proved better than “blind” aneurysmectomy for the treatment of drug-refractory, life-threatening ventricular arrhythmias [2–4]. Several surgical techniques, e.g., encircling or partial endocardial ventriculotomy [1, 5], endocardial resection [6], cryoablation [7], and laser ablation [8], also used in combination [9], were developed for the surgical treatment of ventricular tachycardias refractory to medical therapy.
