Abstract
The World Federation of Societies of Anaesthesiologists (WFSA) is an international organisation founded in 1955 to coordinate world anesthesiology. It promotes international cooperation among anaesthesia communities, exchanges and shares knowledge through education and research, and promotes world health through high-quality anaesthesia care worldwide, particularly in aid to third-world countries. Founded in Scheveningen, The Netherlands, WFSA is governed by an Executive Committee, which oversees a network of committees to execute its programmes and projects worldwide. Every 4 years this world body gathers in a designated city in the world at the General Assembly of the World Congress of Anaesthesiology.
