Riassunto
Il diabete mellito (DM) è una delle patologie croniche più frequenti dell’età evolutiva, con elevata e crescente incidenza soprattutto nei primi anni di vita. Le conseguenze di tale patologia risultano gravi sia in termini di morbosità, disabilità e mortalità, sia relativamente ai costi dell’assistenza sanitaria.
