Riassunto

L’incidenza di epatopatie a evoluzione cirrogena in età pediatrica è di 2/10.000 nati vivi; ciò significa che in Italia, dove annualmente nascono circa 500.000 bambini, vi è la necessità di 100 trapianti epatici pediatrici l’anno. Grazie sia ai progressi delle tecniche chirurgiche che alla migliore gestione perioperatoria, più del 90% dei bambini sottoposti a trapianto oggi è vivo a 1 anno dall’intervento [1].
