Se la chirurgia del politrauma è uno sport da contatto, un trauma epatico severo è un Ninja Master: un nemico spietato, astuto e letale. Quando ti trovi faccia a faccia con un’emorragia epatica massiva, guarda l’orologio della sala operatoria e poi l’anestesista che si affanna a versare i vari componenti ematici nel dispositivo di infusione rapida: hai più o meno 20 minuti e circa 8–10 unità di sangue per fermare l’emorragia. Non uno di più.
