Riassunto

Nei capitoli precedenti sono stati introdotti e discussi i principi della tomografia computerizzata a raggi X; particolare attenzione è stata dedicata al processo di formazione dell’immagine e al suo impiego clinico. Nel presente capitolo saranno presentati alcuni aspetti pratici relativi alla caratterizzazione delle prestazioni degli apparecchi TC e, in particolare, saranno esaminati i principali parametri impiegati nella valutazione della qualità delle immagini e i criteri per garantire un livello standard di funzionamento (considerato ottimale) di un tomografo.
