Le condizioni cliniche di emergenza-urgenza che riguardano il paziente acuto sono definite in base alle modalità di insorgenza e alla sintomatologia o, in caso di trauma, allo specifico meccanismo che ha potenzialmente generato lesioni di organi e strutture anatomiche. Il grado di severità viene inoltre correlato all’alterazione dei parametri vitali valutati in base alle linee guida dell’Advanced Trauma Life Support [1].
