Riassunto

Del rapporto tra cinema e sogno e cinema e immaginazione si è scritto molto. (1980) ha indicato tre grandi differenze che il film presenta rispetto al sogno: la consapevolezza del soggetto rispetto a quello che sta per fare, la presenza di un materiale percettivo reale, e infine il testo molto più logico e costruito. Metz rileva che ci capita raramente di ritrovare davanti a un racconto filmico quell’impressione di assurdità autentica comunemente provata davanti al ricordo dei nostri sogni. Se infatti il contenuto manifesto di un sogno fosse riportato pari pari sullo schermo, darebbe luogo a un film realmente inintelligibile.
