Riassunto

Sino a oggi lo screening del carcinoma prostatico è stato affidato all’esplorazione rettale e al dosaggio sierico del PSA in associazione all’ecografia transrettale (TRUS), mediante la quale è possibile effettuare in tempo reale il prelievo bioptico [1]; sicuramente negli ultimi anni l’utilizzo delle tre indagini ha portato a un decremento della mortalità, ma poco ha inciso sull’accuratezza dei prelievi bioptici stessi.
