Riassunto

Con l’avvento dell’ecografia, della RM, della TC multidetettore e della PET, la radiologia muscolo-scheletrica ha notevolmente ampliato gli orizzonti e le capacità diagnostiche. Gli strumenti principali che i radiologi muscolo-scheletrici erano soliti utilizzare prima dell’introduzione della RM erano la radiologia tradizionale e l’artrografia. La radiologia muscolo-scheletrica ha subito notevoli progressi nel corso del tempo: si è assistito al passaggio dalla visualizzazione indiretta della struttura ossea e degli spazi articolari a quella diretta delle singole strutture tessutali e alla precisa descrizione delle componenti muscolo-scheletriche.
