È l’alterazione del cuore destro secondaria a un acuto incremento della pressione in arteria polmonare e quindi dell’ afterload del ventricolo destro. La causa più frequente è la tromboembolia venosa, anche se tutte le cause di ipertensione polmonare possono essere in gioco.
