Riassunto

La tomografia computerizzata multistrato (TCMS) è una tecnica emergente che permette di ottenere un’accurata valutazione dell’albero coronarico in modo non invasivo. L’accuratezza diagnostica nel rilevare la presenza e la severità dell’aterosclerosi coronarica rispetto alla angiografia è stata dimostrata da un’ampia letteratura. Questa tecnica permette, inoltre, di ottenere informazioni aggiuntive rispetto all’esame angiografico tradizionale come lo studio della parete delle coronarie, la valutazione della frazione di eiezione del ventricolo sinistro e lo studio delle valvole cardiache.
