Riassunto

Le miopatie infiammatorie comprendono un gruppo eterogeneo di malattie muscolari acquisite, ad andamento subacuto o cronico, caratterizzate da ipostenia prevalentemente prossimale e dalla presenza di infiltrati infiammatori alla biopsia muscolare [1]. Sono le più diffuse miopatie acquisite e potenzialmente trattabili, sia nell’età adulta sia fra i bambini. L’incidenza annuale riportata varia da 2,2 a 7,7/1.000.000 e la prevalenza da 10 a 63/1.000.000 [1, 2].
