L’utilizzo dell’ecografia nella diagnostica pre ed intra-operatoria delle malattie epatobiliari ha assunto un ruolo sempre più importante negli ultimi anni. Anche dal punto di vista terapeutico, l’ecografia interventistica ha un ruolo di primaria importanza nel trattamento di patologie infiammatorie, infettive e neoplastiche. In particolare l’approccio percutaneo ecoguidato è particolarmente indicato nel posizionamento di drenaggi per il trattamento di patologie infettive (ascessi epatici), nel trattamento delle cisti epatiche idatidee e delle cisti epatiche semplici. Nell’ambito della patologia biliare l’approccio percutaneo ecoguidato trova la sua indicazione nel trattamento percutaneo delle colecistiti acute con l’esecuzione della colecistostomia percutanea.
