L’incidenza delle malformazioni del SNC è del 5,3 per 1.000 neonati; questa percentuale aumenta includendo i nati morti e gli aborti. La severità di queste patologie è estremamente variabile potendo spaziare da condizioni incompatibili con la vita post-natale tipo l’anencefalia a condizioni transitorie quali le cisti dei plessi corioidei [1].
