Surgical Approach to Congenital Vascular Malformations (CVM) in the Foot

  • Giacomo Pisani
  • Dirk A. Loose

The foot is a special localisation for all different forms of vascular malformations. The step-by-step diagnostics contain the assessment of the clinical picture and the functional disturbances of the foot. It is mandatory to get precise diagnostic information about the involvement of the four compartments of the foot. This is the basis for the access surgery to the different regions. Eight main accesses have been developed. Incisions should be traced out to suit the loading zones of the foot. The treatment may have to be performed in a stepwise fashion.
