Innovación en Atención Primaria. Vías de avance de fácil y necesaria implementación

Resumen

Hace ya 6 años que Ricard Meneu, Vicente Ortún y Fernando Rodríguez Artalejo, junto a otros 9 colaboradores, unieron esfuerzos para editar un espléndido libro íntegramente dedicado a las innovaciones en gestión clínica y sanitaria. Tras una introducción a la innovación en general y a la innovación en salud en particular, su tipología, difusión, efectos secundarios, contribución al crecimiento, costes y resultados en salud atribuibles al cambio tecnológico, nos comentan 9 ejemplos elegidos de entre 40 innovaciones consultadas a los lectores de Gestión Clínica y Sanitaria. Podríamos repetir la jugada con otras tantas innovaciones, pero segundas partes nunca fueron buenas. Hemos preferido tratar acciones macro, meso y micro íntimamente ligadas al ejercicio del médico de cabecera que implican más y mejor inteligencia sanitaria. Un Sistema Nacional de Salud como el nuestro, universal, gratuito en la prestación, de alta calidad e innovador en medicamentos es compatible, por ejemplo, con mayor mortalidad evitable en usuarios de clases más bajas. Las “ómicas” que se prevé mejoren la forma de detectar, prevenir, modificar y tratar las enfermedades, las tecnologías de la información y comunicación (TIC) que mejoran la forma en la que los pacientes acceden a la información de la salud, y el seguimiento de estos de forma no presencial por parte de los proveedores también son compatibles con lo que se ha dado en llamar “la brecha 90/10”. Mucho falta por recorrer en materia de investigación e innovación para mejorar el acceso a la salud de aquellos más afectados por las desigualdades en salud.
