Abstract

Wireless sensor networks play an important role in the industry. The electronic energy is a key factor of the operation of WSN. In this paper, we propose a new model based on GPSR protocol to simulate the WSNs. We discuss how the WSN is influenced by the sink node, including the location of sink node and the moment for sink node’s movement. We also consider the lifetime in different energy-limited conditions. We find some locations for sink nodes where the lifetime of WSN will be prolonged efficiently. The consequence in our work may be helpful to the research of continuous move of sink node in WSNs.
