Abstract

The causes of disorders are attributed to the mother and the child. The causes attributed to the mother are, unhealthy diet and lifestyle, poor hygiene and evil spirits. The child is mostly attacked by multiple evil spirits as well as injury due to mother’s negligence and poor diet. The disorders are divided into most severe, moderately severe and mild ones. The symptoms are general and specific. Good and poor prognostic indicators are given. Treatments consist of diet, lifestyle, medicines and specific therapies. There are detailed descriptions of all the syndromes.

Jipai NaD: Jipa means child and NaD is a disorder. Translations from Tibetan texts in this chapter are by Dr. Tenzin Lhundup.
