Abstract
In this chapter, we look at how R&D aids in improving the competitiveness of a company. We understand the R&D development process. We discuss the factors that influence the R&D efficiency of a company. We evaluate the cooperation strategies that may be followed by companies and the situations in which partners may be chosen. We conclude the chapter by looking at the various patterns in R&D strategy. In all, we understand the impact of R&D on strategy formulation and execution.
