Abstract

Management of eyelid injury presents unique challenge to all practising ophthalmologists and oculoplastic surgeons. Since each case is unique, basic surgical principles have to be followed in each case so as to decrease the chances of complications as well as to attain a good functional and cosmetic outcome. This chapter outlines the basic principles, the approach to adnexal injuries with special reference to medial and lateral canthus and the management of blunt eyelid trauma.
