Abstract

This chapter presents a new measurement based approach to the problem of controller design for Linear Time-Invariant (LTI) systems directly from the frequency response data. The objective is to guarantee stability and a prescribed desired closed loop frequency response meeting the design specifications. The method to be presented can be used to solve controller design problems wherein the mathematical model of the plant is unknown but for which the frequency response data is available.
