Multicenter Clinical trial of Zenith AAA Endovascular Graft for Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm in Japan
Endovascular aneurysm repair (EVAR) has been widely adopted as a minimally invasive therapy for abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA), however, evaluation of EVAR for AAA in Asian people have been poorly studied. And there are some reports about the anatomical differences of aorto-iliac region between western and Asian people.
We analyzed the multicenter data that was prospectively collected in four institutes in Japan to assess the safety and effectiveness of the Zenith stent graft (Zenith) for AAA. Ninety-seven patients (93 men, mean age 74 years, range 54–86) have undergone EVAR using Zenith. Aneurysm diameter ranged from 40 to 76 mm with a mean of 51 mm. Patients were evaluated for change in aneurysm size, endoleak, graft migration, conversion, rupture, and device integrity.
