Growth of Bi2Sr2CaCu2Oy Single Crystals by Self Flux Method

Abstract

We prepared high quality 80K-phase Bi-Sr-Ca-Cu-O (BSCCO) single crystals under various preparation conditions by a self-flux method using the crucible with a cap. From the results, we found that the plate-like single crystals with the size of 4 × 2mm2 were obtained and had an 80K single-phase. The critical transition temperature of the crystal was about 95K.
