Behavioral Syndromes in Early Right Middle Cerebral Artery Territory Stroke

In the early phases of cerebral stroke, many types of behavioral syndromes can be observed. For the right-hemisphere stroke Hier, for instance, enumerated left-sided extinction on double simultaneous stimulation, neglect of hemispace, dressing apraxia, naming impairments of familiar faces, anosognosia, block design disturbance, impersistence, unilateral spatial neglect, and copying impairment of Rey complex figure [1]. For behavioral changes seen in right middle cerebral artery (MCA) stroke, a recent textbook includes neglect and extinction, impersistence, dressing apraxia, loss of topographic memory and disorientation for place, disorders of spatial localization, confusion and delirium, confabulation and reduplicative paramnesia, constructional apraxia, allesthesia, and amusia [2].
