We showed in Chapter 3 that numerous steps in conventional animation can be assisted or improved by computer. In particular, the computer can be used:

    to input drawings

    to produce in-betweens

    to specify the motion of an object along a path

    to color the drawings and create a background

  5. 5

    to synchronize motion with sound

  6. 6

    to initiate the recording of a sequence on film.
