Abstract

Today, the city extends itself in invisible networks of production, reproduction and distribution of the information by means of images and sounds, which intervene profoundly on our consciousness and influence our attitude and sensibility. Artists like Yamaguchi Katsuhiro are well conscious of this phenomena and their work show reflections of a situation which had already been pointed out by Marcel Duchamp in his Large Glass. They suggest how to make the best use of today’s technology. They are searching for “space extensions”, which amplify gestures and progression of the body. Such spaces tie up to the body the technological prosthesis which they are constituted of. The work of art acts then like a regulator, by integrating the technique to our body, and to our sensibility.
