New Design Code for Cathodic Protection System of Maritime Steel Structures

Abstract

Maritime structures which will be exposed in severe corrosive condition, the corrosion protection is essential problem to be solved urgently. Cathodic protection is most expected to protect submerged area of steel structures.

Public Works Research Institute and Public Works Research Center jointly have developed new design system of cathodic protection through laboratories experiments and in actual fields in cooperation with private companies. Finally we proposed the new design code which contains design rules and criteria’s for cathodic protection system of maritime steel structures.
