Abstract

FOCUS is a quarterly macro-econometric model of the Canadian economy, developed and maintained at the Institute for Policy Analysis, University of Toronto. It is an acronym for Forecasting and User Simulation mode. It is a direct descendent of the now-retired University of Toronto Quarterly Model. However, unlike its predecessor which was used primarily for short-term forecasting, FOCUS is designed for policy analysis and trend projection over the medium and the long term.
