Endodissection in Transhiatal Esophagectomy: Technique and Clinical Results

Recent advances in technology enabled the construction of a mediastinoscope which enabled microsurgical dissection of structures in the posterior mediastinum [1]. We adopted this technique and constructed an advanced mediastinoscope for the endoscopic dissection of the thoracic esophagus in transhiatal esophagectomy (THE).
