Abstract
Infection following total knee arthroplasty can be a devastating complication resulting in a loss of knee motion and function and even in amputation. The incidence of knee infection following total knee arthroplasty has been reported to be from 2% in patients with osteoarthritis and 3% in patients with rheumatoid arthritis [1,2].
