Abstract
The biological treatment method is effective and economical to treat the organic wastewater compared with physical and chemical methods. When the wastewater contains toxic materials such as phenol, cresol, pentachlorophenol(PCP) and polychlorinated biphenyl(PCB), the biological methods are confronted with many problems due to decrease of microorganisms activity.(1) The biological degradation characteristics of isolated microorganisms were studied to treat these organic wastewater. (2-3) But the isolated microorganism has to compete with other microorganisms in the field environment and it might be depressed. The refractory materials could not be decomposed due to diauxic effect in the wastewater treatment plant.
