Pathomorphology of advanced hepatocellular carcinoma

  • Masamichi Kojiro

After such a long hopeless period in the diagnosis and management of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), early detection of HCC has been made possible by advances in various diagnostic techniques, in particular the remarkable advance of diagnostic imaging in the past decade [1]. However, the majority of HCCs are still detected in the advanced stage and the curative therapies are not as effective as they are in earlier stages.
