Abstract

Infrared and visible to uv spectra of La2−xSrxCuO4 are measured from 30 to 30000 cm−1 range with single crystals by using specially designed microspecstrophotometers. The spectra of insulating state shows all predicted lattice vibrations and origin of mid-infrared absorption band. The metallic crystal shows in addition the Drude type free carrier band.
