Correlation between Tc and Eu Lattice Vibration in (La1−xEux)2−yCeyCuO4−δ Observed by 151Eu Mössbauer Effect

Abstract

The electron doped T’-phase superconductor (La1−xEux)2−yCeyCuO4−δ were studied by X-ray powder diffraction and 151Eu Mössbauer effect. The obtained isomer shift and the Debye temperature showed that Eu is trivalent but OD was smaller than those in the hole-doped superconductors (EuBa2Cu3O7−δ and T*-phase superconductor). With increasing Eu concentration, the lattice constants shortened and Tc increased. Tc enhancement can not be necessarily explained by the change of the lattice constants. A tight correlation between Tc and ΘD was found. We try to explain it using McMillian’s equation.
