Superconductivity of High Tc TlBa2Ca1-xYxCu2O7 (0≦x≦1.0) System

Advances in Superconductivity II

Abstract

The effect of Y substitution for Ca in the Tl-Ba-Ca-Y-Cu-O system has been investigated for a wide substitution range. The unit cell dimensions and chemical compositions were determined by X-ray powder diffraction (XPD) analysis and analytical electron microscopy (EDX). Superconducting properties were studied by resistivity and DC susceptibility measurements. Tc of TlBa2Ca1-xYxCu2O7 increases with increasing x up to x=0.2-0.35, where it turns down and reaches non-superconductor at x=0.5.
