Effect of Oxygen HIP on Superconducting Property of High-Tc Oxide Superconductors

Abstract

Various synthesis conditions of Ln1-xCaxBa2Cu4O8 (Ln=Y,Ho, x=0-0.2) system and SmLa1-xSrxCuO4-z (x=0.05-0.5) system were investigated by using Oxygen Hot Isostatic Pressing. In SmLa1-xSrxCuO4-z system, the mixed phases of T’ and T- phase are formed at 950°C under oxygen partial pressure of 200 atm for 10 hours. The amount of T’-phase increases as the Sr concentration increases. The amount of Meissner signal of SmLa1-xSrxCuO4-z system takes the maximum value at x=0.25. The Ca-substituted single 1-2-4 phase can be synthesized at temperatures above 1000°C and oxygen partial pressure of 200 atm. Critical temperature of Ln1-xCaxBa2Cu4O8 (Ln=Y,Ho) increases as Ca-substitution increases up to x=0.1.
